Wow - what a read! I couldn't put this one down after I started it.. I definitely enjoyed reading Abra's story. Fay has certainly combined intriguing characters, suspense, faith and romance and written a story with twists and turns that kept me guessing to see what was going to happen next. It is also a beautiful story of hurting people finding healing and second chances. This book is one that I wholeheartedly recommend to the reader that enjoys really good Christian suspense.
This story was packed with twists and turns on top of twists and turns! Filled with complex characters who sometimes created more problems for themselves, Everybody’s Broken examined how lies and half truths impacted family and friends.

The author did a good job of keeping me on my toes as I read. It was not always clear who was a “good guy” and who was a “bad guy” in this book. At times the villain’s thoughts were showcased and allowed the reader to see exactly how deranged this individual was. It added a very creepy feel to those parts of the book.

I enjoyed this complex story and I was definitely surprised as details fell into place and all was revealed. Everybody’s Broken was an intensely suspenseful novel.

This is my first time to read a novel by Fay Lamb. I must say she has a flare for twists and turns in a story that even when I figured out who is the villain was, I kept turning the page. In Everyone’s Broken Faye shows how we see ourselves may not necessarily be how others see us.

As the main character, Abra, struggles to piece life together while hiding out from the man who killed her husband, she discovers this truth. Her eyes are opened and she’s faced with dealing with who she really is and what these new revelations mean to her future. And as her world seems to be turned upside down she rediscovers her relationship with God and His presence in her life.

The male lead in this novel is Shane. As I turned the pages I discovered a faithful man who withholds truth in order to protect those he loves. He too learns the importance of honesty and how painful lies, even when told to protect, can hurt. But, he also learns about forgiveness and its power of healing.

As family and friends work to solve the mysteries surrounding deaths and attacks their stories and hidden truths also emerge. Together and united they figure out all the mysteries that need solving. It was a pleasure to see each character grow and each story come to a satisfactory conclusion. I highly recommend Faye Lamb’s book to anyone who has a passion for romantic-suspense.

These questions kept me turning the pages of Everybody’s Broken long after my regular bedtime.
Lamb portrays complex, believable characters. I fell in love with the brave young widow Abra, her sassy Southern friend Mazzie, and the rest of the characters who were unexpectedly brought together by tragedy. Through their stories, Lamb presents the truth that even when people are broken by circumstances or choices, healing and new beginnings are possible.
From the time when Fay Lamb and I critiqued each others' books (way back in '06), I have absolutely loved her writing. She can create a nail-biter like nobody else, I kid you not. The genre is mystery and suspense, and it has a generous spoonful of Christianity and another of romance.

Abracadabra Carmichael, so named by her father because she was born on Halloween, is anything but Halloween-ish. Abra avoids spooky or scary stuff, ignores truth that might hurt, and likes everything to remain exactly as it has been. Then her husband Beau is murdered, her brother Finn also presumed dead by the same assassin, and her five-year-old twin sons missing. Her best friend Mazzie is acting suspicious; she's introduced to Beau's sister and brother-in-law; and she nearly faints when Beau's cousin arrives--almost a dead ringer for Beau. Oh, sorry--bad choice of words.

It soon becomes apparent Abra is also in danger. The boys have been returned, and she loves her new inlaws, but Mazzie insists she must leave Bodacious Cove for a safer environment. However, it soon becomes apparent that Beau's home town, Amazing Grace, is no safer. Strange sounds emanate every night from the huge house his grandmother willed to him, and Abra decides to sleep in the boys' room on the floor between their beds with the door locked.

I highly recommend this book, even though it has a few typos. I would give it five stars, which I usually don't when I find more than one or two typos. Truly, Everybody's Broken is a well written, surprising, and suspenseful story.
Everybody's Broken by Fay Lamb is her best book yet. The story is complex but followable. The suspense is intense and you really care about the characters. Fay's taken some difficult subject matter and gracefully woven them into a story. Well worth the read...
